CREMATION

BURIAL

Jeremiah 10:2
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not
dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Cremation- to consume by fire; burn.
Ash- the powdery residue of matter that remains after burning.
Dust- earth, or other matter in fine, dry particles; the ground; the Earth's surface.
(Elements of Earth are also in the bodies make-up of planetary individuals.)

************

Adam was formed from the "dust of the ground".
Mankind is to naturally return to the dust upon physical death!

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Job 21:26 They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
Job 34:15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
Psalms 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
Ecclesiastes 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Not one place in the Bible will you find God's People ever burning the bodies of those individuals that followed God and His Righteousness. Even in difficult circumstances God's People in ancient days practiced burial.
- Joseph's bones were kept for years in Egypt and then carried through the 40 years of wilderness wanderings before his burial in Palestine, the Promised Land.
Genesis 50:24-25 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Joshua 24:32 And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
- God Himself buried Moses...
Deuteronomy 34:5-6 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
- God tells Abraham he will be buried in a good old age...
Genesis 15:15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

• Abraham was buried (Genesis 25:8-10)
• Sarah was buried (Genesis 23:1, Genesis 49:30-31)
• Rachel was buried (Genesis 35:19)
• Leah was buried (Genesis 49:31)
• Isaac was buried (Genesis 35:29, Genesis 49:31)
• Jacob was buried (Genesis 49:33, Genesis 50:1-13)
• Joseph was buried (Genesis 50:26, Joshua 24:32)
• Aaron was buried (Deuteronomy 10:6)
• Eleazar the son of Aaron was buried (Joshua 24:33)
• Moses was buried by God (Deuteronomy 34:5-6)
• Joshua was buried (Joshua 24:29-30)
• Ruth was buried (Ruth 1:17)
• Samuel was buried (1 Samuel 25:1)
• David was buried (1 Kings 2:10)
• Elisha was buried (2 Kings 13:21)
• John the Baptist was buried (Matthew 14:10-12)
• Ananias and Sapphira were buried (Acts 5:5-10)
• Stephen was buried (Acts 8:2)
• Jesus Christ (man's Example to follow) was buried (Matthew 27:58-60)
These are but a few examples of burial mentioned in the Bible.

Cremation is believed to be a punishment that is reserved for idols, criminals and enemies of the Jewish faith.

To not be buried was considered a curse, as well as a dishonor and tragedy. For instance, God's curse on the Israelites was that they not be buried.
Jeremiah 16:4-8 They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies. Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them: Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.

The early Christian Church also rejected cremation, because it was associated with Greek and Roman pagan beliefs.

Biblical burial represents a connection between the individual and God.

The bodies of Children of God belong to God; it is not ours to destroy by fire, or by any other means other than the way God has taught mankind through His written Word (Bible) and His Physical Displayed Example (Jesus Christ) for man to follow.
Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Deuteronomy 21:22-23 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
God's Physical Visitation (Jesus Christ) is mankind's Greatest Physical Example unto all things Godly,... a Physical and Spiritual Example to follow.
Matthew 27:59-60 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ; death, burial and resurrection!
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Fire is always use by God to destroy the wicked. Throughout the Bible the destruction of an individual's body, or of an object by fire is used as a sign of divine wrath.
• Sodom and Gomorrah- (2 Peter 2:6)
• Nadab and Abihu- (Leviticus 10:1-2)
• The men who rebelled with Korah- (Numbers 16:35)
• Idols- (Exodus 32:20; Deuteronomy 7:25, 2 Kings 10:26, 1 Chronicles 14:12)
• Magic books- (Acts 19:18-19)
• Unsaved and eternal punishment- (Matthew 13:49-50, Luke 3:9, John 15:6, Revelation 20:9, Revelation 20:14-15, Revelation 21:8)

The burning of bodies by ancient Israel was a judgment and punishment. The burning of bodies was reserved for the corrupt, wicked, defiled, or cursed.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Fire was used by God and his Chosen People (Hebrews-Jews) to illustrate Hell and Lake of Fire as the end result for the corrupted, wicked, defiled, or cursed.
Genesis 38:24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
Leviticus 21:9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
Leviticus 20:14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
Numbers 16:34-35 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also. And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
Joshua 7:24-25 And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor. And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
Ezekiel 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The LORD showed kindness to the men of Jabeshgilead, because they showed kindness in burying the bones of King Saul and his sons.
1 Samuel 31:8-13 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that
they found Saul and his three sons fallen in mount Gilboa. And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people. And they put his armour in the house of Ashtaroth: and they fastened his body to the wall of Bethshan. And when the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead heard of that which the Philistines had done to Saul; All the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Bethshan, and came to Jabesh, and burnt them there. And they took their bones, and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
2 Samuel 2:5 And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him. And now the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.

The LORD does express his disapproval in Amos, and pronounced judgment on Moab for the burning of bones.
Amos 2:1-2 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:
When the LORD does express anger towards something wayward mankind is doing, you can be assured they are doing something wrong! And when He has shown the way, we dare not ignore His counsel for the popular thinking of modern man or modern preachers!
Isaiah 14:19-20 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Jeremiah 22:18-19 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory! He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

Cremation paints a picture of an end, and nothing more can be hoped for. Fire is the end for the lost, not of the saved.
Individuals that follow the LORD and His Righteousness have hope through the Promise that was Physically Manifested and Fulfilled by God Phyically Being Jesus Christ.
The body is a seed. When planted, it decomposes, and the new plant comes forth.
The Bible uses this illustration to give hope for those truly saved!
I Corinthians 15:35-44 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Satan does deceive millions around the world into desiring that their bodies be burnt up and turned to ashes. Why? Satan knows the human body is the Temple of God, and if he can get individuals to disregard and disrespect the Temple of God, man's own body, then those same individuals will be easy prey to be lead to disregard and disrespect other things of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Would it not be dangerous ground to have God know the heart-felt desire of an individual to disregard the very vehicle that the Holy Ghost does dwell in for interaction? "Know ye are not your own"?
Man continues to listen to the whispers of Satan in the world, and disregard what God says or wants!!!!
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Those of God are warned to take heed to be not like the heathen, nor follow their ways.
Deuteronomy 12:30-31 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Yet they thought they could put off their punishment by hiding their evil doings from God.
Amos 6:8-11 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein. And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.  And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD. For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.

Wicked acts and rituals of fire are done by the heathens unto their pagan gods.
Deuteronomy 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
Judges 15:6 Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.
2 Kings 21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
2 Chronicles 28:1-4 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father: For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim. Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel. He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
2 Kings 3:26-27 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
2 Kings 17:16-17 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
2 Kings 23:10 And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.
The altar itself is stamped and burned in judgement. Before the altar is destroyed, Josiah burns the bones of the false worshippers but left the graves of the true men of God alone!
2 Kings 23:15-20 Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove. And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words. Then he said, What title is that that I see? And the men of the city told him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of Bethel. And he said, Let him alone; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria. And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the LORD to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel. And he slew all the priests of the high places that were there upon the altars, and burned men's bones upon them, and returned to Jerusalem.

The Spirit and Soul of an individual is aware of Heaven or Hell upon the physical death of their body. The Spirit and Soul of an individual is also aware of their physical body being cremated. Their Spirit and Soul is aware that their physical body is going through the fires of cremation.

Should a Child of God condone this ungodly act?
Should a Child of God ask their family members to commit such an ungodly act?

We do recognise that there could be unusual circumstances where disposal of the dead by burning may be mandatory.
AND
We know that no individual chooses to die in a fire, but if God does allow such to happen, it is His prerogative.

Cremation will not keep an individual from going to heaven, but we do believe cremating a body willfully will be a choice someone will have to answer for.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Individuals that truly seek God and His Righteousness should lean on the Word of God (Bible) to truly sight God's way, rather than man's accepted wayward ways that Satan has established in the minds and hearts of Hindus and Buddhists and others in this wayward world! Satan always lead individuals to destruction (to burn)!
We pray many will change their mind about cremation after reading the information provided.

*********

Mankind has never been given the freedom to choose the destruction of his/her own body.

There is nothing GODly about Cremation.

ALL GODLY INDIVIDUALS RESPECTFULLY BURY THEIR DEAD.

CREMATION IS OF THE HEATHEN.
IT HAS A HEATHEN ORIGIN AND PURPOSE
WHETHER SOME WANT TO BELIEVE IT OR NOT.
