What Happened to Repentance?

Why don't individuals that claim to love GOD sight the
importance of repentance and the overcoming of sin?

Luke 24:47  
And that repentance and remission of sins should be
preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

This isn't the first time in this planet's history that repentance became indirectly taught of individuals to ignore, or to be of little importance.
Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Acts 13:24 When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

The LORD commanded the High Priests of the Chosen People to sacrifice for the People, not for the Chosen People to continually sacrifice for their own sin.
Jeremiah 33:18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
Psalms 40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Psalms 51:16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy (for the poor animals), and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Hebrews 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
The religious leaders commanded of the People to continually sacrifice for their own sin out of greed and power.
Matthew 23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Luke 11:43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

Israel's religious leaders ignored the importance of repentance. They mislead the Chosen People to depend on continual sacrifice of animals for forgiveness of sin, rather than teaching them to repent of sin, and how to overcome sin. Continual sacrifice taught the Chosen People to serve GOD with sin by having their sin remembered until the next sacrifice.
Isaiah 43:24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
Ezekiel 21:24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

Israel's religious leaders lead the Chosen People to believe it was the LORD that required this continual sacrifice for righteousness, and it was righteous to continually sacrifice animals.
Isaiah 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
Isaiah 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
Jeremiah 7:22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

The LORD desired mercy on the poor animals, and for the Chosen People to stop sinning.
Sacrifice became their cloke for sin, and the People became desensitized to sin, and their killing of innocent animals.
Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Micah 6:6-8 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Jeremiah 21:8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

The Chosen People were not taught the correct Way to the LORD, nor Good and Righteousness. The religious leaders knew they were not teaching the truth to the People, and feared the People if they knew this.
Jeremiah 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Because the Chosen People were not taught the correct Way to the LORD, His Good & Righteousness, nor how to overcome sin, then neither would the rest of the world ever know the LORD of Israel, His Power, nor the correct Way to GOD, His Good & Righteousness for Eternal Living Life.
Isaiah 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
The LORD (GOD's Arm) did Physically Visit the inhabitants of the planet as a Son of God Himself, to teach both the Chosen People and Gentiles the correct Way to GOD, His Good & Righteousness for Eternal Living Life.

The LORD did come down from Heaven to Physically speak to Israel of the failures of their religious leaders of the knowledge of His Covenant, the Ten Commandments and Salvation that wasn't being taught to the Chosen People.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Exodus 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
Psalms 57:3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
If the Chosen People were taught to follow God's Covenant, the Ten Commandments (Law of Good & Righteousness), there would have been no need for sacrifice, nor the 603 judgments. The Chosen People would have been a Holy and Righteous People.
Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Exodus 21:1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
The Ten Commandments is GOD's Set Standard of Good & Righteousness that does overcome sin.
Isaiah 49:22 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
Jeremiah 4:6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.
Most upon the planet do not know nor do they understand the Power of Good that can destroy all sin and its evils!

The LORD did choose and love Israel enough to establish and fulfill His planned workings as a Son of God Himself (Jesus Christ).
He established Christianity so all the families on earth could learn from the successes and failures of Israel to become able to enhance their abilities enough to attain God's rewards in Righteousness.
Genesis 28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
The LORD did fulfil His Own Promise to Abraham, as a Son of God Himself!
Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
God did Physical display what it takes to become a son of God, as a Son of God Himself. Our Righteous Example to follow in all things!
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

Many Christians have not learned from the mistakes of the Chosen People. They are making some of the same mistakes, and listening to the same whispers of Satan.

The Christian teachers today are teaching the same errors that the religious leaders taught the Chosen People.
Hebrews 3:9-10 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Christians are being taught by their leaders and members to continually sacrifice Christ for sin.
Hebrews 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Many are dying the second death, because they are putting their trust in the lies of others, and not seeking the LORD, and His truth within scriptures.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Isaiah 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

Christians today are being taught easy believism. They are taught to recite a simple sinner's prayer to be guaranteed eternal living life. In doing this, neither are they being taught to pray from the heart of their own being with contriteness. It's called a "Personal Relationship with God" for a reason.
• They are being taught and told things that totally ignore scripture. Such as, "All you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ, His dying for your sins, and you will go to heaven."
John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Romans 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Jesus Christ is God's Good and Righteousness Physically displayed, so to abide IN and be IN Christ is to be in God's Good and Righteousness! The very same Good and Righteousness found in the Ten Commandments!
John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Romans 7:12-13 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Romans 1:16-19 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
The Bible is clear there is much more than just believing that is required for faith. There are many individuals that believe in Jesus Christ and God, but few truly know Him!
Hebrews 12:14-15 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Matthew 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Matthew 22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

• They are being taught and told things that totally ignore scripture. Such as, "You don't have to overcome sin, because Jesus overcame sin for you. You can do nothing yourself."
It is true that we can do nothing against sin and evil without the Power of Good and Righteousness that is found in the Ten Commandments and Physically displayed through Jesus Christ, which all true-to-faith Christians do live in and by.
Joshua 6:18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
2 Samuel 22:24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
Job 34:32 That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
Psalms 18:23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
Acts 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
1 Timothy 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Scriptures are clear, true-to-faith believers have a responsibility unto their given salvation. The LORD did NOT create man as an empty shell with no mind or heart of their own to love, do Good, to choose their own destiny, whether it be in Good or evil.

Certain Christians choose to believe repentance is an act that the LORD only requires once upon seeking forgiveness and salvation.
These individuals believe all (past, present, and future) sin becomes forgiven upon obtaining salvation, so there is no longer need for any further repentance.
Jesus is just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, but when does ALL unrighteousness begin and end for an individual. The Bible says PAST and OLD SINS, but nothing about future sins being forgiven unless confessed and repented of.
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are PAST, through the forbearance of God;
2 Peter 1:8-10 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his OLD SINS. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Many Christians make the mistake in thinking:
• Once they repent the battle has been won.
• They think the crown is already in their grasp.
• They think the old things have passed away.
• They think all things have become new.
• They think their old life and nature is gone.
Walking in true Christianity is like enlisting in the army, there is always a battle at hand.
Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Individuals don't repent in order to melt GOD's heart towards them.
• The more they repent, the more they should realize their need for repentance.
• The more they repent, the more they should learn about sin to overcome.
• The more they repent, the more they should realize how hopeless and helpless they are because of sin.
• The more they repent, the more they should be driven with much humility and remorse to Christ for forgiveness.

Jesus Christ did some deep plowing or harrowing upon the land for the raising up of Righteous Sons of God unto Himself.
His deep plowing (till the ground) doesn't just scratch the surface, but does dig deep to the core and cause of sin. Jesus came down from Heaven to teach all the families of earth how to deal with the very cause of sin.

Today's preaching and teaching is all sowing with no ploughing (tilling of the ground). Individuals are not taught to dig deeper than the topsoil. Deep ploughing doesn't just address the disease of sin, it digs down to the very core and cause of the disease. We cannot just focus on the remedy for sin while ignoring its core and cause. Individuals today are offered a prescription of salvation without providing the understanding of needed change of lifestyle for retaining life.

Individuals are lead to believe they are healed of sin when they never knew they were sick, nor are they educated of the sickness that leads to death and destruction. Robes of righteousness are put on them when they never knew they were naked, nor are they educated of the righteousness that they are to live up to. They are urged to trust in Christ when they don't even know their need to trust, nor are they educated of the faith needed for the trust and understanding.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

True seeds of faith cannot be truly sowed until hearts are deeply ploughed!

Individuals are not taught to fear God today.
Psalms 36:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
Romans 3:11-18 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
It's good to feel fear when partaking of sin. Individuals should fear what they can lose!
Matthew 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul (Holy Spirit) shall have no pleasure in him.
Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick (Holy Spirit) out of his place, except thou repent.
It's called the fear of the LORD, and working out your salvation with fear and trembling!
Deuteronomy 8:6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Psalms 130:4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction
Proverbs 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
