Once Saved Always Saved Lie (Page 5)
2 Timothy 4:3-4
"Onced Saved Always Saved" teachers and followers think salvation is merely a choice, reciting a prayer, and nothing more is required of them.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
If individuals truly abide in Jesus, they will walk as Jesus walked and keep the Ten Commandments as Jesus did. Jesus is man's Perfect Example of what it takes to become a son of God, being a Son of God Himself.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Saving faith is planted in those who truly believe and follow, but it must be brought to maturity by the receiver. Jesus said that not all who begin will finish.
Luke 14:27-30 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
The Lord warned to count the cost before starting, because one may not finish. John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
"If ye continue in the faith" means there is a chance you will not continue to finish the race.Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Psalms 19:5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Do the verses below imply a guaranteed eternal existence for the unworthy, ungodly, or unrighteous? Does any scripture for that matter?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
A guaranteed eternal existence is not implied with words such as: should not perish-- might have life-- should be made heirs-- hope of eternal life-- scarcely be saved-- work out your salvation with fear and trembling-- may obtain. Words such as these imply qualifications are needed to run the race, continue in the race, and to finish the race. John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Titus 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. I Peter 4:17-18 For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of god,and if it 1st begin at us,what will be the end of those who obey not the gospel of god? and if the righteous scarcely be saved what shall be the end of the ungodly and sinner? Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. I Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. The story of the Ten lepers in Luke illustrates the cleansing through Christ, and how not all continue (returned) in Christ, nor gave Him Glory.
Luke 17:12-18 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
The LORD expects individuals to repent, continue in the faith, abide in Him, and obey, so they can overcome sin through His Power of Righteousness that is found in the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments that Jesus Christ brought, taught, and physically displayed for all the families of earth to learn from, follow after, and live by, for Eternal Living Life. Jesus became man's Example of what it takes to become a son of God, being a Son of God Himself. The very same Spirit that wrote the Ten Commandments with His Holy Finger Is Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. 1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (so can you!) The position that gives God the Greatest Glory is the one that encourages Righteousness, Holiness, Purity, and Obedience to God. A position that completes what God commands for His planned workings. A full-time Faith, and not one of convience. Individuals that love God all the time, and not love some doctrine that allows individuals their own rebellion and unbelief to presume the Grace of God. Satan wants individuals to believe they can never keep the Ten Commandments, nor be Holy, Pure and Righteous in keeping the Ten Commandments. Satan doesn't want individuals to know God is a Just God, and He would never ask of man to do something that is impossible. If an individual cannot sow Good and Righteousness on their own planet, then neither will they in Heaven. God will not allow any sin into Heaven to destroy all His creativity of Good and Righteous that He loves, and that loves Him. He won't allow sin to destroy Heaven, as it has this planet earth.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. "Once Saved Always Saved" teacher and followers are seeking to sneak into Heaven another way.
John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
Haters and/or rejecters of Holiness and Righteousness will always find the truth offensive. Matthew 22:11-13 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mark 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
The Lord's Holiness, Purity, and Righteousness is found in the Ten Commandments & Jesus Christ. If Salvation and Eternal Living Life is already secure for believers, they would not need to lay hold of Eternal Life, nor fight the good fight of faith. This proves individuals can walk away from their faith. And without faith, they cannot please God, nor receive salvation, since the scriptures do state that both of these are require.
1 Timothy 6:11-12 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Why must individuals be concerned about holding fast the profession of our faith without wavering, if "Once Saved Always Saved" guarantees Eternal Living Life?
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
It is clear we are commanded in Hebrews 10:23 to make every effort, not only to hold on, but to not concede any ground at all. This verse only makes sense if there is a real risk of losing promises that individuals are hoping to receive.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Peter 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. Why the need for patience to receive any promise of God? If individuals are "Once Saved Always Saved", then why is patience and doing the will of God required?
Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Two requirements are identified in this verse, and ye *might* receive the promise.
• First, you need patience.
Can individuals just skip God's voiced requirements and still receive His promises? That would be contrary to scriptures, and not true.• Second, you need to do the will of God.
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Psalms 31:23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Ephesians 5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. 1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
God did afford man the tools of Good and Righteousness to assure man that their Good and Righteousness can measure up to be accounted worthy heirs of the Kingdom of God, if those tools are utilized. The whole duty of man is to fear God, and keep His Holy Ten Commandments of Good and Righteousness.
Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
If there is no law of Good and Righteousness to discern sin, how would we know we need Grace? Without the law of Righteousness, how could God show us His Grace, and the depth of His love for us to apply His Grace? 2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 2 Thessalonians 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 1 Timothy 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Many individuals and nations upon this planet recognize and follow a few of God's Commandments, but not all. You cannot be partially righteous and good to inherit God's Kingdom that is Pure, Holy, Good, and Righteous.
Malachi 2:9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. He that keepeth His Commandments, abideth, endureth, run the race, and overcometh shall inherit the Kingdom of God. It is an individuals own responsibility within their given salvation to overcome sin to obtain Eternal Living Life.
Proverbs 4:4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. 1 Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Paul instructs Timothy to "take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them, for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee".
1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Why would individuals need to ensure their salvation if it was already secured? This scripture only makes sense if it is possible to walk away from your given salvation. If "Once Saved Always Saved" individuals are always saved, then why is Paul instructing Timothy to pay close attention, to continue in these things, and by doing these things he will save himself? Individuals are to be found worthy of the Kingdom of God.
Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 1 Thessalonians 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 2 Thessalonians 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Salvation is likened to being betrothed to a marriage for Eternal Living Life, as scriptures does portray. The betrothed Bride has a responsibility of Faithfulness in Good and Righteousness to have a successful marriage take place.
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
It is the Bride's choice whether to continue in her love, leave, commit adultery, or divorce Good and Righteousness that is Jesus Christ (the Bridegroom). John 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Jeremiah 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 2 Peter 2:13-14 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: The message of "enduring to the end to be saved" is the salvation message that should be preached today. Instead, it has been attacked and rejected by individuals professing to be Christian. A person needs to get saved, keep themselves cleansed from sin, and overcome the sin of the world to be rewarded Eternal Living Life.
Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Psalms 18:23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity. Acts 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. 2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 1 Timothy 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure. 1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 2 Timothy 2:20-21 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. Proverbs 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. ![]() |
